Child Actors Give Q & A about First Feature Film for Fundraiser
Lincoln, NE - Nov. 21, 2015: On November 21 from 1-3pm a panel of actors will host a Q & A at intermission for a fundraiser for The Coalition for Elderly and Disabled, as well as The Joseph and Gladys Moore Foundation. Colin McMahon and Kemaya Forte (both age 9) will be joined by local actress Jackie Hart-Whiting and Director AJ Oetman to discuss their process in creating the Nebraska-made feature film, The Wolf’s Robe. In addition, they will show the first ever public viewing of their trailer.
The Wolf’s Robe is a dramatic comedy about an atheistic magician who, while escaping authorities, hides out in a small town by pretending to be their new minister. The film was shot primarily in Waverly and Crete, NE as well as Des Moines, IA. Regional magician, Keith West, coordinated all of the magic scenes in Des Moines and Colin and Kemaya will recount what it was like to work with him and learn the art of levitation, shrinking, and spike piercing.
The event will be held at the North Gate Garden Estates 2425 Folkways Blvd. Lincoln, NE. It will feature a fashion show for the Coalition as well as a luncheon with mocktails. Admission is $15 per person. The Coalition’s goal is to raise awareness of the challenges the elderly and disabled face in everyday living. The proceeds will help continue efforts to work hand in hand with local government agencies to improve existing laws and to change current policies that will improve the living standards of the Senior and Disabled community.
AJ Oetman and his production partner, Carissa Hosey have made activism a theme of their work in film and have done multiple short projects with the ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union). Therefore, partnering on this amazing fundraiser made a lot of sense to both market their film and help promote the Coalition.
